"In the paintings of József Darázs, paraphrases of the motifs of organic cultures become artistic messages of the twenty-first century."
Art historian Dr. Imre Nagy is a candidate of ethnography
My visual world is largely inspired by folk art and the culture of natural peoples. An organizing principle that formulates reality (does not want to depict it) is what determines my aspirations. I think it is important to collect and process from time to time the set of signs and meanings of our folk art that can still be interpreted to this day, because we are faced with a set of messages that do not convey information that is valid at the moment, but rather listens to the changes of nature living inside and outside of us and engages in the events of the Universe. Runic writing, which can be seen in several of my works, is perhaps the most authentic proof of the organic education of our ancestors. My sculptures are opuses made of sheet iron. They were created by my grotesque, ironic (self-ironic) playful, humorous and archaizing impulses.
