The forms I create based on drawing foundations are characterized by continuity, a return to themselves and a reference to infinity. When creating my works, the main principle is that I create them from one material, adapting to the physical properties of the given material - without gluing or taping.
"Sculpture is a formal sign language condensed into material, where mass and space, saturation and emptiness, closedness and openness, heaviness and lightness take shape as signs, their relationships become meaning... Dániel Kiss was formed 5-6 years ago, in the same order of form his family of sculptures under construction consists of diverse, constantly renewing formal gestures even in their privacy. These sculptures suggest biological reality, create the image of a living being. But this similarity is not based on representation, but the tension hidden in the forms creates the magic. They show and indicate the generality of life, a kind of condensation, an energetic formula. The "liveness" of the sculptures is created by us, the viewers, as we move in front of the object, walk around to reveal all its views, the phenomenon comes to life like a movie, changes with our movement, comes to life. It is the time factor that creates the magic. And this is where the sculpture of Dani Kiss connects with the introductory thoughts, because these sculptures, these formations twisting out of wood and stone, embracing space, tapering and thickening, carry a meaning: they convey the singularity, phenomenology, transience, and immortality of life." – Ádám Farkas, 2020
