"The transparent painting language created by me creates a kind of opportunity for the viewers, so that everyone can further shape the endless network of image-thoughts that cross each other along the lines of their own questions and answers. So I hope my paintings are as much about me as they are about all of us. Built from me, from you, from each other."

 

"Nóra Soós is one of the most outstanding painters of today's middle generation. Over the decades, his transparent pictorial world has developed into an independent painterly language of such strength that it represents an unmistakably sophisticated and unique painting voice in the world of contemporary fine art. Not only the past and the present merge in the artist's works, but also the figures and objects from different cultural environments, displayed at different scales and points of view, with strong contour lines. These transparent layers of images, as well as bold, vibrant colors, have become a trademark of Nóra Soós over the years, to which she has now added a twist with a new technique: she drew some details of her paintings with charcoal pencils, which attract attention with their gloomy colors and saturated shapes. This is how current problems such as climate change, homelessness, or our world affected by the pandemic come to the fore; and those who fall (seemingly) without end, whose fears are our fears too..." - Dóra Dekovics
